Fun activities to do in Rabat!

Whether you’re visiting Rabat for the first time or a local on a staycation, the capital of Morocco boasts an enviable combination of history, culture, technology and modernity.

There is only so much you can do around the city. A city that is both coastal where you can go surf and catch the waves of the Atlantic, and metropolitan with numerous modern features and destinations.

We offer you fully furnished apartments in Rabat’s best neighbourhoods from Hassan and L’Ocean, to Hay Riad and Agdal, right near Rabat’s museums, parks and famous landmarks! The city’s calmness and friendly locals make it a perfect destination!

That’s why, we have gathered a list of the best activities to do just for you!

1- Get lost in the Kasbah des Oudaias

The 11th century fortress walls that surround the Kasbah hold a magical place within. A city within a city, the narrow blue-and-white streets are home to musicians, Henna-tattooing ladies and souvenir shops that will seduce you until you find yourself petting every cat and sipping sweet mint tea enjoying the panoramic view at Café Maure which has been renovated in 2021.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, the Andalusian Gardens are as charming as they sound, and only a few minutes-walk away from where you can take a boat across the Bou-Regreg river to Marina Salé where you can have a drink or eat at well ranked restaurants.

2- Wander around Rabat’s Museums

Right next to Rabat Ville’s newly renovated Train station, the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art is a must-see. As it strives to achieve an international level of cultural prominence, the museum has a permanent collection that holds artwork from nearly all the country’s top names in the art world, from the mid-20th century to the present day, along with temporary and new collections all year long.

Insider tip that isn’t very insider: Entrance is Free on Fridays!

Around the corner, and only a few minutes-walk away is the Archaeological Museum of history and Civilizations that provides its visitors with the opportunity to discover a unique collection of precious treasures from the various civilizations that have descended on Morocco from prehistoric times, to Islamic civilizations.
Because we are a fan of art ourselves, you can take the chance to book and spend a weekend or plan a short-term vacation in one of our Art Deco apartments in Hassan, which are only a few minutes walk from the museums. Our own museum, we like to call it!

3- Shopping spree at Arribat Center

Rabat is home to one of the biggest shopping centers not only in Morocco, but in Africa. Arribat Center has nearly 90 different stores and brands along with a huge supermarket, and the best part is that if you’re staying in any of our furnished apartments in Agdal, they are all a 5 minute walk from it.

3- Catch a Movie night with friends.

CineAtlas, Megarama and Renaissance are Rabat’s premium movie theaters where you can watch the latest Hollywood and international movies, and YES they all sell popcorn and your favorite snacks. Or you could totally skip it and have a movie night at home, our apartments in Rabat are fully furnished and equipped to provide you with total comfort and our TVs have Netflix, IPTV for your favorite movies and TV shows.

4- Promenade in the Old Medina

You simply cannot visit Rabat without taking a stroll in the Old Medina’s bazaars, and shops. They have everything you can think of, whether you’re looking for a new tagine or a new pair of jeans, a pet fish or a 5 dirham sandwich. The Old Medina never disappoints.

5- Escape the Room in Agdal

If you are visiting Rabat with friends, Escape the Room games are the perfect adrenaline boosting activity for you. I mean, why wouldn’t you want to be locked in a room for 60 minutes with your favorite people trying to figure a way out?
Then grab your friends and come spend the night in one of our apartments to rent right around the corner!

6- Visit the Hassan Tower & Mausoleum of Mohammed V

Recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, the Hassan Tower is one of Rabat’s most famous attractions. This 45-meter-high tower is an incomplete plan of what was meant to be the world’s largest mosque. Right next to it, is the mausoleum where the former King rests and is guarded by the Moroccan Royal Guard. But don’t worry, because as serious as they look, they are happy to take selfies with you!

7- Plan a Picnic in Chellah

If Rabat is well known for another thing, it would be its green spaces! The city has some of the most beautiful parks and gardens, where you can go for a run or have a picnic. Chellah has been a famous destination for picnic lovers lately, but so is Nouzhat Hassan Garden, Hilton Forest or Rabat’s Botanical Garden. Really! Too many to mention! If you happen to like green spaces, our apartments in Agdal Baakili are right across a nice park. If you enjoy a nice morning run, book the perfect spot with us! Our apartments also come fully equipped so you can make that smoothie after your run!

Rabat’s small size makes it easy for you to walk around its sites. If not, don’t you worry, because the city has a high-quality public transportation system.

However, If you’re planning a short-term visit to the city, our fully furnished apartments are all only a few miles away from all of the attractions above!
